The trouble with Red Bull Cola

Red Bull Simply Cola is a cola beverage. Strong and natural without chemicals.

So why should that interest me...

Why have Red Bull moved into this space with a product that simply does not reflect their current brand proposition.

Red Bull is not known for its natural, nothing artificial, good for you and the environment, tree hugging range of drinks. NO, Red Bull is about adrenalin pumping, exhilarating, risk taking dare devil feats. It’s meant to ‘give you wings’, amongst other things as well as reportedly being bad for your heart by pumping you full of stimulants and giving you one hell of a hang over when mixed with a well known clear spirit.

As a good friend of mine commented’ ...unless I can feel that Taurine shooting towards my heart what’s the point!”

So the question has to be, why market this Cola as being natural rather than just another great product from Red Bull.  The problem with this approach is that they are now focusing on the ingredients rather than the product itself and there are several other drinks companies playing this card at the moment.

The company seems to be somewhat confused and has almost released this product simply to add to their product line. Will the Red Bull brand sell this alone? Maybe, however it must be said that this product simply does not sit well alongside the Red Bull we have all come to know and love.

A natural cola would be better suited to a company such as Innocent where people expect natural ingredients as a given. Red Bulls' Cola product is hardly a warning shot across Coca Colas bow. If anything it strengthens their main rival PEPSIs’ foray into the natural cola space with its rather confused PEPSI RAW.
